Few growers capture the soul of the Côte de Nuits quite like Domaine Fourrier. Under Jean-Marie Fourrier, this small Gevrey estate has become a benchmark for Burgundy of purity, precision, and intensity, made from old vines with minimal intervention and a deep respect for the vineyard.
This dinner with Jean-Marie’s son Louis, the next generation to represent the estate, will showcase the Fourrier philosophy through five of the family’s remarkable terroirs: the anything-but-ordinary Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes made from an average of 15 different parcels of old vines; Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Gruenchers, highlighting the village’s floral perfume and silky finesse; then back to Gevrey for the Premiers Crus of Combe aux Moines, just below dramatic limestone cliffs yielding intense minerality and structure, and Clos Saint Jacques, widely considered the best non-Grand Cru terroir in the village for its power and elegance. We’ll close with a rare taste of the Grand Cru Griotte-Chambertin’s extraordinarily refined aromatics, texture, and complexity. The wines will be paired with a tasting menu from Chef Chris Cippollone at Michelin-starred Williamsburg destination Francie.
