The imposing Clos Vougeot is one of Burgundy’s most historic walled vineyards, created by Cistercian monks in the 12th century and remaining their flagship vineyard until the church’s holdings were seized during the French Revolution. Today, Château de la Tour is emblematic of the appellation and of Burgundy itself, as of the original owners of the first subdivision of Clos de Vougeot in 1889 and still its largest landholder, farming nearly twelve percent of the vineyard. This seminar with sixth-generation winemaker Edouard Labet will illuminate the intensity and finesse of the Château de la Tour style of Clos Vougeot, including three examples of the Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, made from vines planted more than 100 years ago.
