Domaine de la Romanée-Conti
Attending Winemaker Aubert DE VILLAINE

Simply put, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti produces the most sought-after wine in Burgundy. They are the largest producer in terms of Grand Cru ownership, and certainly one of the most famous. Today the estate is jointly owned by the De Villaine and Leroy families, and administered by the Burgundian icon Aubert de Villaine. The vineyards are strictly organic and the Domaine also practices certain elements of biodynamism. Regarding the role of the winemaker Aubert de Villaine says: “I believe that in Burgundy, the talent – the talent which produces the great wine – is in the terroir. The reputation of the wine from Burgundy was made over the past several centuries and it comes from the quality of wine that the particular terroir can provide. That is the talent. The role of the winemaker is to enable the terroir to be in the best condition possible – to help bring forward the product of the exceptional land. The role is to listen to the terroir…to understand what to do to achieve and equilibrium in the soil.”

Domaine des Comtes Lafon
Attending Winemaker Dominique LAFON

Domaine des Comtes Lafon has been in the Lafon family since 1865. Dominique Lafon took over winemaking responsibilities at the Domaine in 1983. Comprising 10.56 hectares of whites and 5.76 hectares of red (16.3 total) the Domaine is situated in the communes of Meursault, Volnay, Monthélie, Puligny and Chassagne-Montrachet from which they produce 13 appellations including, among others: Premier Cru Meursault Charmes; Meursault Perrières, Meursault Genevrières, and Goutte D’Or, Monthélie-les-Duresses Premier Cru and Montrachet Grand Cru. Recent additions to the Domaine include about two and a half hectares in Clos de la Baronne, Bouchères, and Porusots. Dominique also holds land in Mâcon under the Domaine name Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon. All of his vineyards are cultivated biodynamically. As part of the fourth generation of winemakers in the Lafon family, Dominique and his wines are superstars not only throughout Burgundy but throughout the world.

Domaine Roulot
Attending Winemaker Jean-Marc ROULOT

For more than 170 years Domaine Roulot has been an important presence in Meursault. But it was only in the 1920's and 30's that the family, led by Paul Roulot, became grape growers as well as winemakers and distillers. The Domaine as we currently know it was founded by Guy Roulot in the late 1950’s and is now run by his son and daughter. The Domaine is comprised of about 11 hectares in the communes of Meursault, Monthélie and Auxey-Duresses and produces the following appellations among others: Meursault Les Tessons, Clos de Mon Plaisir and Les Tillets; Meursault Premier Cru Les Bouchères, Les Charmes, Perrières and Poruzots; Monthèlie Premier Cru Les Champs Fulliot and Auxey-Duresses rouge. The vineyards are increasingly farmed biodynamically. Jean Marc Roulot, a classically-trained actor and the current winemaker at Domaine Roulot, has turned this Domaine into one of the most hallowed of the region. The wines are exceptionally terroir-expressive, pure and elegant.
